“Why is it so difficult to get into comic books?”

This is one of the questions that has plagued my friends and casual comic book movie fans for decades. I spent a lot of time watching my friends become frustrated and confused, but always there to answer questions when they had them.

So, what if I became that friend for everyone? Your guy at the comic book shop when you are too nervous to ask about getting into comic books. The guy who can recite the speech from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But most importantly, that non-judgmental friend who helps you get into comic books.

With this in mind, I set out to create a YouTube Channel that helped readers new and old either kindle or rekindle their love of comic books.

Objective: Create a YouTube channel showcasing comic books to new and seasoned readers. A second objective I decided upon was to gain a greater understanding of what it takes to create a YouTube channel. How Search Engine Optimization plays into the channel and what steps one takes to get a channel off the ground.

A note: While my findings are preliminary, this project continues to evolve.

Introducing Comics Central.

Simon Sinek often says “People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.” I have always found this to be true and that is what this video is about. At the end of the day I love comic books, and that is my “why”.

The Distribution of Comics Books.

In this video, we talk about how comic books are distributed. We also talk about… monopolies? There is a slight dark side to the distribution of books and did you know the Supreme Court got involved!? Sorry for the double punctuation, but it is really wild. You will not want to miss this video.

How Comic Books Are Made.

The process of making comic books is an interesting one. But what goes into that process? Find out what it takes to go from idea to print and other ways to publish your work.
